National Picnic Month in RV Country

community

August is National Picnic month and so the natural question is – where will you picnic this month? Picnics have a fun history of representing many things. A picnic could be a romantic meeting of a couple in love. It could be a family on an outdoor adventure. A day in the park or a day just to enjoy the outdoors. A picnic can also consist of any kind of food you’d like. Do you think of sandwiches, chips, and drinks? Or do you think more along the lines of fruit and wine? You see, a picnic can be anything you want it to be at any given time. That’s the great thing about them!

Now, if you’re looking for some great picnic places we can help you out with that too. Here are some getaways you may enjoy:

Kelly’s Beach – For our Fresno friends, The Kings River flows through the heart of the San Joaquin Valley’s lush agricultural  farmland. Winding past orchards and  vineyards, the river finds its way to Kelly’s  Beach. Where shade trees, green grass and  a sandy shoreline create a family vacation paradise or a cool way to spend the day.

Rotary Park – For our Bullhead City friends. This huge park offers Colorado River beaches, walking trails; ramadas with barbecues, a Colorado River launch ramp, fishing jetty, and fish cleaning station. Admission is free!

Jasper State Recreation SiteIs sure to get our Coburg friends excited for a picnic! The park has plenty of room for games, picnics, fishing and the reservable group shelters come complete with covered cooking facilities.

Big Bend State Recreation Area  – This one is for our friends down in  Laughlin, Nevada. Situated on the shores of the Colorado River below Laughlin in Nevada’s southern tip. The park offers dramatic views of the river and surrounding mountains. Popular activities are picnicking, boating, fishing and swimming. Located five miles south of Laughlin’s casino row on the Needles Highway, the park is operational during daylight hours only.

Hylebos Nature Area – Located in Fife Washington. The City acquired this 15 acre site along Hylebos Creek through County and Federal grants. It has trails, a picnic area, is handicap accessible, and bathrooms.

There you have it. A lovely picnic area for each town that Paul Evert’s RV Country is located in. We sure hope you have an enjoyable picnic and create some wonderful memories! Feel free to share some picture of your picnic with us on ourFacebook wall!
Until then, happy RVing!
