RV Travel Blogs Gain Popularity
It seems the day has finally come where tradition and family meet cutting edge technology. Some may find irony with those who use their RV to escape the hustle bustle of every day life, just to sit down at a desk and work on the internet! However, with the ever-increasing popularity of the blogosphere, laptops, and easy access to the internet, WHY NOT?
While it may be a new concept to some, the RV industry saw this trend coming many years ago. Most fifth wheels and motorhomes offer floorplans equipped with built in desks or workstations and many RV parks and campgrounds offer wireless broadband connections. You can even get in-motion highspeed internet in the more expensive diesel pushers.
Forget about all the technical aspects though and think about your own experiences. How many times have you seen an adorable chipmunk, an amazing sunset, or something outrageous like a 134' tall thermometer while traveling and exclaimed "Oh, I wish so-and-so were here to see this?" Now, with just a couple clicks of a button, they can!
With advancements in technology, you can get crystal clear and breathtaking pictures and video instantly! There are many easy-to-use and free sites to host your blog, pictures, and your video too!

Paul Evert's RV Country Announces Store Closure
Laughlin, Nevada's largest RV Dealership, Paul Evert's RV Country, announced late Friday (Jan. 30) that they plan to close their doors by the end of April. The Laughlin closure will affect about 45 employees in sales, service, parts, and other jobs.
"We held out as long as we could," says Vice President Curt Curtis, "but it's a very tough economic time and the Laughlin RV market was no longer as profitable as we needed it to be."
Paul Evert's RV Country has been in business for 48 years and sales remain steady at their primary location in Fresno, California. After partnering with Camping World last year, Paul Evert's is proud to remain Fresno's only full sales, parts, and service dealership. The company's Bullhead City, Arizona sales lot will also remain open.
"This doesn't meant you've seen the last of us," Curtis says. "We still plan to do shows in the Tri-State area. It's just unfortunate, that after 9 years in Laughlin, we've become one more victim of the slowing economy, high gas prices, and deflated housing market."
Paul Evert's RV Country launched an aggressive advertising campaign this month to help sell off some of their nearly 200 new and pre-owned motorhomes and fifth wheels currently for sale. Some prices were stated to be as much as 50% off of the retail price.
"While there are many varied reports of the market turning around and banks beginning to lend again, we feel it's best to consolidate locations, liquidate inventory, and put ourselves in a good and solvent position to remain in business through these difficult times." says owner Paul Evert.
The RV industry is often similar to the housing industry and currently both are experiencing the turn to a buyers market.
"Some of our older inventory is listed online at prices below our cost," Curtis says, "but if that's what we have to do right now to move coaches and generate cash flow, then that's what we're going to do. We plan on being around for a long time."
